Hi, I'm very excited to been enrolled in a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) titled The Place of Music in the 21st Century. The MOOC is one of the many provided free of charge by Coursera.org and is led by Dr James Humberstone - lecturer at The University of Sydney.

The 5 week course looks at various approaches to teaching music. Week One titled Technology in (music) education asked the question "What does music education look like with and without technology?

2 case study schools were compared. Northern Beaches Christian School (NBCS) where extensive use of technology was employed and students formed their own rock bands and Kamaroi Rudolf Steiner School where the teacher followed the concepts of Orff and Kodaly and little if any technology was employed. Both approaches had there merits.
