Pre-Task #3 : Try to create a new melody to the existing chords. Start by playing scales over the chords. 3 scales work well; A minor pentatonic, C Major and A Blues. You may also like to create some lyrics to go with your melody. Try singing these. Record your new melody using a device (iPad/phone) for future reference. Keep rhythms simple. Your teacher will help you with this.

Pre-Task #4 :Open your Sibelius Pre-Task 2 Answer. Save a copy and rename it Pre-Task 4. Delete the existing vocal part and try to create a new melody. Keep it simple and use a balance of repetition and contrast. It should be catchy, memorable and easy enough to sing. If you have time try writing some lyrics to go with the melody. Save your work. This will be the final assessment.
