You will have received lots of information already about the school, however, this page is designed to lead you through the stage between accepting an offer and the first day of school.
This is the page for 'What happens next?"

Please download and refer to this enrolment checklist. It gives advice on what you need to do to ensure your child is ready for school. You will see there are things such as e.g. school uniform. If you scroll to the end of this page, you will see a whole section with links to each of these important pieces of information.
Induction Day/ First Day of School
The new academic year started on Tuesday, 27th August 2024.
If your child / children are joining during the academic term, please note that on their first day in school, we will spend the first hour or so of their first day, introducing them to school and sorting out a number of practical issues.
The details of this induction will differ according to your child's age and what class or year level they are joining in JIS.
This typically includes for Senior students:
- Meeting your Head of House
- A school photo
- A school tour
- Collection of the campus card
- Login to school email
- School lockers
If you have any concerns, please don't hesitate to contact the Admissions team who will be happy to help.
The Parent Portal: Firefly
The Parent Portal at JIS is called Firefly. Parents are able to register for Firefly on 1 August or your child's first day of school (if joining after 1 September) to gain full access to this portal.
You will be able to access lots of general information about the school as well seeing your child's profile with their timetable, school reports, homework etc.

Jerudong Parent Community Committee (JPCC)
The JPCC's primary purpose is to support and develop the community within and around JIS; aid in relations and communication between the school members and parents; provide assistance to JIS community events, and help organise social and informative events for parents, students and colleagues.
Some of the suggested activities for the first term are social meet up with new JIS parents/families, parents' coffee mornings and International day exhibitions for the JIS students.
The committee hopes to engage as many parents as possible in social school events and invites everyone to join us in supporting extracurricular activities. If you want to participate in activities organised by the Parent Community, you can contact us via this e-mail at JPCC@jis.edu.bn. There are no special skills required for your participation. If you have ideas for Parent Community functions or perhaps experience from a parent community work in another school or country and would like to continue enriching the JIS community, please let us know.
Committee meetings will be held at least once at the beginning of each term.
More information, such as the JPCC constitution, can be found on Firefly on the JPCC page (tinyurl.com/JIS-Parent-Community).
Please look out for e-mails or social media posts from JIS Parent Community Committee starting next term.
Kind regards,
JPCC
